A downloadable game

■ Story

This is the land of River-Cloud. Peace was once protected by the gods of the sky, but the evil entity “Onnen-Head” seized control of the heavens, and monsters began to appear throughout the land.

To defeat Onnen-Head, who lurks in the sky, and restore peace to River-Cloud, you set out on an adventure!

■Features

This is a short RPG with screen-by-screen movement in four directions.

This homebrew 8‑bit retro title was crafted with NESMaker, with basic operation verified on both emulators and a real Famicom console.

■ About the Game

This is an RPG. Defeating enemies grants you experience points and gold, allowing you to grow stronger as you progress.

■ Controls

・D-Pad: Move your character

・A Button: Display your status screen Press A again to close it.

Press Down to switch pages — there are 3 pages in total.

HP: Your life. If it reaches 0, it’s game over.

G: Your gold.

EX: Experience points.

Items: You can obtain three types of items.

■ Town

The town has facilities that will support your journey.

・Inn: Marked with the sign “INN.” You can stay for 9G. Higher experience increases the amount of HP recovered!

・Password Room: Marked with the sign “PASS.” If certain conditions are met, you will be given a password. You can continue your adventure from where you left off!

■ Battles

While exploring the field, enemies may appear, and you will be taken to the battle area.

Choose one of the two icons to decide your strategy:

・Sword Icon Fight the enemy! You can earn experience and gold. Be careful—taking damage can be dangerous.

・Escape Icon Run away when things look bad. But if you fail, the enemy will strike you!

■Note

This game was created by a beginner. Although I have tested it thoroughly, please forgive any issues that may remain.

Some parts of the scripting were inspired by tutorials from the New 8 bit Heroes YouTube channel.
